A Foreign Film Project.

Over the last couple of months, I have documented my experiences, both in my visits back to San Diego and my life in Leeds, on a point and shoot 35mm film camera that I picked up in a thrift store (a highly recommended thing to do). Following are some of the images I’ve taken, plus some from my Polaroid, as a bit of comparison between the two worlds. Continue reading

A Collection of Photographs, “Untitled.”

Moments in time that many just look over and dismiss as a fleeting feeling, German photographer Josh Kern has captured our attention with his awe-inspiring images on film. Some may overlook these feelings in the moment, move on to the next face, the next motion, the next word that seems to distract from the importance of this second, of right now. We live our lives too fast to realize the emotion and reality in everyday. Adventures in North Park (playlist + video)

Well this is a new idea, our very first vlog/video that is’t from a concert! The other day Ash and I (Kyla) went down to the market in North Park, spread some love by giving strangers sunflowers, watched the sun set from the roof of a parking garage, and just explored around with some friends (Ella, Julian, and Carlos/Curtis) . Here’s a lil’ something I stitched together from the adventure, with a playlist of music that fit the mood.

The Chain Reaction of Love

Every time I turn on the news and check any mainstream media source, there is a new shooting or bombing that has occurred out of hatred. The news anchor will casually say, “17 people lost their lives in terrorist attack, death toll still rising.” Their expressions are non-existent. We are so used to seeing this and only thinking about it for merely a few seconds. We don’t think about the lives that these innocent people were living. The sons, daughters, siblings, mothers and fathers that these people were. We have become so acclimated to this hateful epidemic that occurs almost every day, that we don’t seem to think of it or do anything about it.

It’s time for a love revolution! Continue reading
